DESCRIPTION:Hounslow/JYI  Cluster Leadership Programme 2022/23\nLed by Dr John Yates\nShaping the future by building back better\nSession 3 –  'A curriculum for life: what skills and values will be needed?' \nProgramme overview\nStarting in September 2022\, the John Yates International (JYI) Cluster Leadership programme will be returning to live sessions. \nAt a time when school leaders are still working hard to stabilise and rebuild their schools after the pandemic\, and when trust in the authenticity and integrity of political leadership is low\, the leaders of the profession are in a good position to seize the opportunity to think through and enact their own strategies for “building back better.” \nThe intention of this revised 2022/23 programme is to build on work started during the remotely-delivered sessions of this current year and to take thinking\, planning and implementation – enhanced with new ideas and approaches – to even deeper levels. The five strategic priorities\, which have formed the basis of our work together over past months\, will be the themes for future attention\, aiming to ensure greater consistency of good school and partnership practice. \nBearing in mind the continuing need to provide support for children who have fallen behind\, taking forward the following priorities will help to equip all children for life in a confusing\, complex and challenging world and enhance workforce fulfilment and job satisfaction: \n\nBuilding a rounded curriculum that will equip children for life\nPutting an even greater emphasis on personal development\nTaking values\, attitudes & moral purpose to a deeper level\nShaping teaching and learning in readiness for the future\nMaximising the job satisfaction and fulfilment of the workforce\n\nFocusing in a deeper and more meaningful way on our priorities\, the things that really matter\, will enable us\, within and through our schools and partnerships\, to improve our work/life balance and to contribute to building a better world. \nThe morning sessions will be led by John Yates at the Lensbury Conference Centre in Teddington and will start promptly at 9.00am and finish at 12.30pm with lunch. \nPlease remember the importance of remaining at the venue in the afternoon\, after John’s departure\, to follow-up the issues raised in the morning. This uninterrupted quality time for reflection and planning in school teams was an integral and greatly valued element of the overall programme in pre-Covid days. SUMMARY:Vulnerable Schools SEND Group
DESCRIPTION:The Vulnerable Students and SEND Group (VSSG) is set up to deliver a more strategic and coherent approach to supporting vulnerable students\, and to ensure ongoing improvement in SEND working between the LA and Hounslow Schools. \nThe group's key focus will be to have strategic oversight to identify key risk factors that impact the children and young people of Hounslow\, supported by a series of working groups to achieve the best outcomes for member schools relating to the following themes:  \n\nCrime relating to schools\nTransition\nFair Access/managed moves/exclusions/alternative provision\nBuilding stronger partnership and ways of working with the LA SEND teams\nImproved outcomes for Special Schools working as HEP members\nBuilding the school-to-school offer\nRaising awareness of the local offer\nSEND action plan and recovery\n\nThere will be three meetings held annually\, spread across the three terms. Working groups across Primary\, Secondary and SEND will be formed to drive forward particular streams of development work. \nThe purpose of the meetings: \n\nSetting the groups strategic priorities for social vulnerability and SEND\nAgreeing specific target outcomes\nDirecting the focus of the specific working groups\nConsider feedback from member schools on their needs in order to investigate further potential service developments
