SUMMARY:Maths A Level Training – Session 3
DESCRIPTION:Delivered over three sessions\, this bespoke Maths training has been designed to improve subject knowledge and pedagogy of specific topics as identified by Heads of Department. In comparison to impressive KS4 results in Maths across HEP schools\, there is an identified need to improve outcomes at A Level. \nThe training is being delivered by Robert Wilne (King's Maths School) and being designed in conjunction with Yuvraj Nirwal (TGS\, Maths Subject Network Lead\, Teaching for Mastery secondary lead NCETM) bespoke to our context.  \nThis is a remote training offer\, free to HEP Secondary schools; sessions 1 and 2 are open to all Maths teachers.  \nUse the sign-up form below to book your place. \nSign-up form \nPlease return your completed form to e.pett@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk \nSession 1 – for all A level Maths/aspiring A level Maths teachers across HEP \nThursday June 24th  2-4pm \nAlgebra: What are the core skills KS5 students need to have ‘at their fingertips’ right from the start of the course? How should these be assessed\, developed and sustained? \nSession 2 – for all A level Maths/aspiring A level Maths teachers across HEP \nWednesday 30th June 2-4pm \nGraphs: Confident and accurate “thinking in pictures” is essential for success in KS5 maths. How should graphical topics be taught so that students develop both fluency and understanding when answering multi-step problem-solving questions? \nSession 3 – Maths heads of department/Maths KS5 lead \nTuesday 6th July 2-6pm \nThis time is available for Maths heads of department to book individual 15-20 minute slots with Robert for collaborative planning\, bespoke support\, or follow up based on sessions 1 and 2. \nMaths Training Information
