SUMMARY:Oaklands School – Sensory Stories Training – Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Adapting stories\, books and texts using a multisensory approach\nDuring this training\, you will develop your understanding about what is a multisensory approach and how it can be incorporated into reading and literacy lessons. Sensory stories are a brilliant way of promoting a love of reading for pleasure for pupils with complex additional needs. \nAims\n\nTo support delegates to build their confidence in creating and using sensory stories in their own setting.\nYou will learn about the benefits of adapting stories\, books and texts using a multisensory approach\, and how it can support not only learners who may have sensory impairments\, but all learners.\nThe pupils who would benefit include SEN students in both primary and secondary settings\, as well as early years students in mainstream settings.\n\nDates\nThis is a two-session course: \n\nThursday December 1st 4pm-5:15pm - part 1\nThursday December 8th 4pm-5:15pm - part 2\n\nVenue\nThe training will take place at Oaklands School\, Gresham Road\, TW3 4BX Hounslow unless covid-related issues come up\, in which case it will be offered online. \nGet in touch\nIf you would like more information\, please contact Anna Sainsbury – asainsbury@oaklands.uk.net
