DESCRIPTION:A Reading-for-Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools\nThis twilight workshop is for teachers who have completed the Contingent Talk training. \nThis is the final network session for Nursery/Early Years practitioners led by Charlotte Raby. \nMain agenda for this session\n\nReflection – practitioners will report on the progress of the children they have worked with this year\nFilms – it is expected that all practitioners have a film of their Contingent Talk practice to talk about and upload to Padlet\nExit Survey – to be completed during the session\n\nWhat is Contingent Talk?\n\n10 minutes – once a week ‘Contingent talk with a book’ sessions with a trained adult.\nA simple child- centred approach to language learning through talk contingent on the child’s interest based around a book chosen by the child.\nAt least a term’s commitment to providing ‘Contingent talk with a book’ to each child chosen for the programme.\nIt will also be an opportunity to identify colleagues who will be involved in the training sessions.\n\nImpact:\n\nShared reading has a positive impact in children’s language development.\nDialogic reading styles are more effective at boosting children’s language development than a simple\, storytelling narrative style.\nInterventions based on dialogic reading styles have a positive impact on children’s expressive vocabulary.\n\nGet Hounslow Reading schedule\n \nFor more information\, contact n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:Develop your A level teaching is a forum for Hounslow teachers and leaders with a passion and responsibility for excellent provision at post-16 to share their expertise and champion best practice in their subject. DESCRIPTION:Introduction: \nSubject Networks have been established to assist the development of subject teaching in Hounslow Education Partnership (HEP) Secondary Schools whilst supporting the CPD of middle leaders.  In 2021-22 Subject Networks will continue to be supported by the London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) 14-19 service team (Nina Johal) and HEP (Emma Pett).  \nPurpose: \nTo facilitate the development of high quality subject teaching across HEP Secondary Schools.  \nObjectives: \n\nTo develop professional relationships between colleagues from different schools which facilitates ongoing peer support (i.e. outside the formal meeting structure);\nTo support Subject Leads/Heads of Department/Curriculum Leads (SLs) in keeping up to date with emerging policy and consider with their subject colleagues the implications for strategy and practice;\nTo facilitate sharing and development of good practice related to subject teaching\, learning and assessment;\nTo provide a mechanism for efficient and effective consultation and information flow between SLs and HEP.

DESCRIPTION:Develop your A level teaching is a forum for Hounslow teachers and leaders with a passion and responsibility for excellent provision at post-16 to share their expertise and champion best practice in their subject. This programme is driven by a shared acknowledgement of historic underachievement at post-16 across the borough\, despite impressive performance at KS4. \nThis is a HEP-wide programme of high quality training that is based on current and relevant educational theory and research\, supporting the in-school CPD offer. \nHEP schools\, with or without a sixth form\, can opt into this collaborative programme\, nominating teachers with any level of experience to attend. \n\nThree meetings held during the year based on the four HEP principles:\n\nIntroducing new knowledge: small steps  and questioning\nApplication: models and scaffolds\nReviewing material: daily\, weekly and monthly\nGuided independent practice: How to  set it\, monitor it and check it\n\n\nKeynote presenters and subject group facilitators sourced by HEP\nBreakout groups where colleagues discuss the implications specific to their students\nHEP-wide collaboration and sharing of best practice specific to A level teaching with subject groups\nBuilding sustainable networks of subject specialists for support beyond the calendared meetings\nSubjects offered: Maths\, English\, Biology\, Chemistry\, Physics\, Geography\, History\, RE\, Sociology\, Psychology\, Economics\, French\, Spanish\, Business Studies BTEC
