SUMMARY:John Yates Primary Leadership 2022/23 – Session 4
DESCRIPTION:Hounslow/JYI  Cluster Leadership Programme 2022/23\nLed by Dr John Yates\nShaping the future by building back better\nSession 4 –  'Taking teaching and learning forward: how can pedagogy meet the needs of a rapidly changing world?' \nProgramme overview\nStarting in September 2022\, the John Yates International (JYI) Cluster Leadership programme will be returning to live sessions. \nAt a time when school leaders are still working hard to stabilise and rebuild their schools after the pandemic\, and when trust in the authenticity and integrity of political leadership is low\, the leaders of the profession are in a good position to seize the opportunity to think through and enact their own strategies for “building back better.” \nThe intention of this revised 2022/23 programme is to build on work started during the remotely-delivered sessions of this current year and to take thinking\, planning and implementation – enhanced with new ideas and approaches – to even deeper levels. The five strategic priorities\, which have formed the basis of our work together over past months\, will be the themes for future attention\, aiming to ensure greater consistency of good school and partnership practice. \nBearing in mind the continuing need to provide support for children who have fallen behind\, taking forward the following priorities will help to equip all children for life in a confusing\, complex and challenging world and enhance workforce fulfilment and job satisfaction: \n\nBuilding a rounded curriculum that will equip children for life\nPutting an even greater emphasis on personal development\nTaking values\, attitudes & moral purpose to a deeper level\nShaping teaching and learning in readiness for the future\nMaximising the job satisfaction and fulfilment of the workforce\n\nFocusing in a deeper and more meaningful way on our priorities\, the things that really matter\, will enable us\, within and through our schools and partnerships\, to improve our work/life balance and to contribute to building a better world. \nThe morning sessions will be led by John Yates at the Lensbury Conference Centre in Teddington and will start promptly at 9.00am and finish at 12.30pm with lunch. \nPlease remember the importance of remaining at the venue in the afternoon\, after John’s departure\, to follow-up the issues raised in the morning. This uninterrupted quality time for reflection and planning in school teams was an integral and greatly valued element of the overall programme in pre-Covid days. Please be sure to re-establish this from the outset of the 2022/23 programme. \nFull details can be found here. \nContact c.bourne@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk

SUMMARY:Get Hounslow Reading – Contingent Talk with Books – Nursery/EYs Practitioners
DESCRIPTION:A Reading-for-Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools\nThese workshops are for teachers who have already registered for the full project. \nThis is the third of five sessions for Nursery/Early Years practitioners. \nIn this session\,  you will set up twilight network sessions for Spring and Summer 2022 which Charlotte will lead. \nWhat is it?\n\n10 minutes – once a week ‘Contingent talk with a book’ sessions with a trained adult.\nA simple child- centred approach to language learning through talk contingent on the child’s interest based around a book chosen by the child.\nAt least a term’s commitment to providing ‘Contingent talk with a book’ to each child chosen for the programme.\nIt will also be an opportunity to identify colleagues who will be involved in the training sessions.\n\nImpact:\n\nShared reading has a positive impact in children’s language development.\nDialogic reading styles are more effective at boosting children’s language development than a simple\, storytelling narrative style.\nInterventions based on dialogic reading styles have a positive impact on children’s expressive vocabulary.\n\nGet Hounslow Reading schedule 2022/23\n \nFor more information\, contact n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk

SUMMARY:John Yates Primary Leadership 2022/23 – Session 2
DESCRIPTION:Hounslow/JYI  Cluster Leadership Programme 2022/23\nLed by Dr John Yates\nShaping the future by building back better\nSession 2 – 'Tomorrow's world: what will the best schools be like?' \nProgramme overview\nStarting in September 2022\, the John Yates International (JYI) Cluster Leadership programme will be returning to live sessions.
