DESCRIPTION:A Reading-for-Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools\nThese workshops are for teachers who have already registered for the full project. \nThis is the third of five sessions for Nursery/Early Years practitioners. \nIn this session\,  you will set up twilight network sessions for Spring and Summer 2022 which Charlotte will lead. \nWhat is it?\n\n10 minutes – once a week ‘Contingent talk with a book’ sessions with a trained adult.\nA simple child- centred approach to language learning through talk contingent on the child’s interest based around a book chosen by the child.\nAt least a term’s commitment to providing ‘Contingent talk with a book’ to each child chosen for the programme.\nIt will also be an opportunity to identify colleagues who will be involved in the training sessions.\n\nImpact:\n\nShared reading has a positive impact in children’s language development.\nDialogic reading styles are more effective at boosting children’s language development than a simple\, storytelling narrative style.\nInterventions based on dialogic reading styles have a positive impact on children’s expressive vocabulary.\n\nGet Hounslow Reading schedule\n \nFor more information\, contact n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk

SUMMARY:Deep Dive and the Senior Leader – Session 2
DESCRIPTION:This is the second of four sessions designed for a senior and subject leader from the same primary schools where few or none of their subject leaders attended any of the Spring Term Deep Dive courses. \nAim\nThe aim of this course is to support a pair of leaders – one senior and one subject – to be able to deliver a school-based version of this course to subject leaders within their school.\nGiven the changes that occur naturally in primary schools at subject leader level\, our intention is that this course will enable subject leaders to deliver their own version or variation of this course based on the materials that HEP has commissioned.
