DESCRIPTION:Primary Subject Leader Programme 2023/24 led by experienced subject specialists – \nSpring term network week – 4th-7th March 2024 \nIn 2022/23\, as identified through joint practice development\, this popular and successful programme will continue with three meetings throughout the year to keep subject leaders up-to-date with the national perspective and good practice developments within their subject. \nNew Poetry network for 2023/24\nWe are delighted to be able to offer a termly Poetry network this year. This will be facilitated be Jonny Walker who delivered a keynote and workshop at the Get Hounslow Reading conference. \nWe are also pleased to announce that Matthew Courtney from Wandle English Hub will be facilitating all future English networks. \nPlease note that the English and Poetry sessions will be scheduled on different days. \nHow will it work?\nWe will run meetings over three days during our Subject Network week. DESCRIPTION:Develop your A level teaching is a forum for Hounslow teachers and leaders with a passion and responsibility for excellent provision at post-16 to share their expertise and champion best practice in their subject. DESCRIPTION:The Vulnerable Students and SEND Group (VSSG) is set up to deliver a more strategic and coherent approach to supporting vulnerable students\, and to ensure ongoing improvement in SEND working between the LA and Hounslow Schools. \nThe group's key focus will be to have strategic oversight to identify key risk factors that impact the children and young people of Hounslow\, supported by a series of working groups to achieve the best outcomes for member schools relating to the following themes:  \n\nCrime relating to schools\nTransition\nFair Access/managed moves/exclusions/alternative provision\nBuilding stronger partnership and ways of working with the LA SEND teams\nImproved outcomes for Special Schools working as HEP members\nBuilding the school-to-school offer\nRaising awareness of the local offer\nSEND action plan and recovery\n\nThere will be three meetings held annually\, spread across the three terms. Working groups across Primary\, Secondary and SEND will be formed to drive forward particular streams of development work. \nThe purpose of the meetings: \n\nSetting the groups strategic priorities for social vulnerability and SEND\nAgreeing specific target outcomes\nDirecting the focus of the specific working groups\nConsider feedback from member schools on their needs in order to investigate further potential service developments

DESCRIPTION:A Reading-for-Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools\nThese workshops are for teachers who have already registered for the full project. \nIn this session\, Nursery/Early Years Leaders will plan for the training sessions. \nWhat is it?\n\n10 minutes – once a week ‘Contingent talk with a book’ sessions with a trained adult.\nA simple child- centred approach to language learning through talk contingent on the child’s interest based around a book chosen by the child.\nAt least a term’s commitment to providing ‘Contingent talk with a book’ to each child chosen for the programme.\nIt will also be an opportunity to identify colleagues who will be involved in the training sessions.\n\nImpact:\n\nShared reading has a positive impact in children’s language development.\nDialogic reading styles are more effective at boosting children’s language development than a simple\, storytelling narrative style.\nInterventions based on dialogic reading styles have a positive impact on children’s expressive vocabulary.\n\nGet Hounslow Reading schedule 2022/23\n \nFor more information\, contact n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk
