DESCRIPTION:The Vulnerable Students and SEND Group (VSSG) is set up to deliver a more strategic and coherent approach to supporting vulnerable students\, and to ensure ongoing improvement in SEND working between the LA and Hounslow Schools. \nThe group's key focus will be to have strategic oversight to identify key risk factors that impact the children and young people of Hounslow\, supported by a series of working groups to achieve the best outcomes for member schools relating to the following themes:  \n\nCrime relating to schools\nTransition\nFair Access/managed moves/exclusions/alternative provision\nBuilding stronger partnership and ways of working with the LA SEND teams\nImproved outcomes for Special Schools working as HEP members\nBuilding the school-to-school offer\nRaising awareness of the local offer\nSEND action plan and recovery\n\nThere will be three meetings held annually\, spread across the three terms. Working groups across Primary\, Secondary and SEND will be formed to drive forward particular streams of development work. \nThe purpose of the meetings: \n\nSetting the groups strategic priorities for social vulnerability and SEND\nAgreeing specific target outcomes\nDirecting the focus of the specific working groups\nConsider feedback from member schools on their needs in order to investigate further potential service developments

SUMMARY:Primary Subject Leader Networks 2022/23
DESCRIPTION:Primary Subject Leader Programme 2022/23 led by experienced subject specialists – \nSession 1 – Tuesday 8th November 2022 \nIn 2022/23\, as identified through joint practice development\, this popular and successful programme will continue with three meetings throughout the year to keep subject leaders up-to-date with the national perspective and good practice developments within their subject. \nDates \n\nSession 1 – Tuesday 8th November 2022 (apart from History 9th\, DT 10th and PE 15th Nov)\nSession 2 – Tuesday 14th March 2023\nSession 3 – Tuesday 23rd May 2023\n\nHow will it work?\nAll subject network meetings will take place\, via Zoom at 4-6pm. \nEach subject will be led by a specialist within that subject\, offering a perspective beyond Hounslow. \nWhat if you lead more than one subject?\nPlease choose one subject network meeting you will be attending on the booking form. \nPlease note – You will have to complete a separate booking for each session. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact – n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:A Reading-for-Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools\nThese workshops are for teachers who have already registered for the full project. \nThis is the second of five sessions for Nursery/Early Years practitioners. \nIn this session\,  you will set up twilight network sessions for Spring and Summer 2022 which Charlotte will lead. \nWhat is it?\n\n10 minutes – once a week ‘Contingent talk with a book’ sessions with a trained adult.\nA simple child- centred approach to language learning through talk contingent on the child’s interest based around a book chosen by the child.\nAt least a term’s commitment to providing ‘Contingent talk with a book’ to each child chosen for the programme.\nIt will also be an opportunity to identify colleagues who will be involved in the training sessions.\n\nImpact:\n\nShared reading has a positive impact in children’s language development.\nDialogic reading styles are more effective at boosting children’s language development than a simple\, storytelling narrative style.\nInterventions based on dialogic reading styles have a positive impact on children’s expressive vocabulary.\n\nGet Hounslow Reading schedule 2022/23\n \nFor more information\, contact n.standing@hounsloweducationpartnership.co.uk
