A Writing for Pleasure Project for HEP Primary Schools in partnership with St Mary's University, Twickenham
Aimed at KS2 teachers.
The project
This three-year project is aimed at growing a team of expert, engaged teachers to develop the ‘will’ to be a writer.
The programme will be run by senior lecturers, Kerry Assemakis and Karen Fox from St Mary's University, Twickenham.
Dates
Sessions will take place online, via Zoom, on Wednesdays, 1-3pm:
- 20th November 2024
- 29th January 2025
- 5th March 2025
- 30th April 2025
- 11th June 2025
Please note – you will be asked to complete a series of questions to review your practice as part of your booking.
Designed by the St Mary's team, this self-review will help you reflect on your current personal identity as a writer. Research shows that teachers who write, teach writing best. Being a teacher writer is crucial to the development of young writers, fostering a writing for pleasure ethos, and is a core professional responsibility.
