Adapting stories, books and texts using a multisensory approach

During this training, you will develop your understanding about what is a multisensory approach and how it can be incorporated into reading and literacy lessons. Sensory stories are a brilliant way of promoting a love of reading for pleasure for pupils with complex additional needs.

  • To support delegates to build their confidence in creating and using sensory stories in their own setting.
  • You will learn about the benefits of adapting stories, books and texts using a multisensory approach, and how it can support not only learners who may have sensory impairments, but all learners.
  • The pupils who would benefit include SEN students in both primary and secondary settings, as well as early years students in mainstream settings.

This is a two-session course:

  • Thursday December 1st 4pm-5:15pm - part 1
  • Thursday December 8th 4pm-5:15pm - part 2

The training will take place at Oaklands School, Gresham Road, TW3 4BX Hounslow unless covid-related issues come up, in which case it will be offered online.
