Vulnerable School Send Group Meeting (vssg)- CANCELLED
Wed 29 Apr 2020 | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This event has passed.
The Vulnerable Students and SEND Group (VSSG) is set up to deliver a more strategic and coherent approach to supporting vulnerable students and to ensure ongoing improvement in SEND working between the LA and Hounslow Schools.
The VSSG will work in close partnership with the LA to the benefit of all member schools, high needs funding spending and VSSG membership funding. Communication between the Group and wider LA teams will be through their representatives.
There will be five meetings held annually, spread across the three terms. Smaller working groups may be identified to pick up on particular streams of development work.
The purpose of the meetings:
Develop and quality assure and review for member schools the service offers or commissioned work eg. Woodbridge Park KS4 partnership working, Gateway service offer, Alternative Provision bought on behalf of member schools such as Fresh Start and Trading Places
The working and outcomes of Fair Access Panel (FAP) placements and managed transfers
Consider feedback from member schools on their needs in order to investigate further potential service developments
Advisory group for SEND provision and improved communication strategies
Meet the Expert – Art Workshop – "Good delivery and alternative resource options provided. There were clear explanations and questions to ask children were also provided."
Middle Leader Training – "Very inspiring leaders who answered all questions without making you feel at all silly. Loved it."
Deep Dive Subject Leader Training – "I so enjoyed the course. It made me realise how much I have to do in History, but so reassuring to have someone who knows what he is talking about!"
Develop your A Level Teaching – "Collaboration is a huge part of this project; CPD and teacher training works best when you’re doing it alongside colleagues. The 4 HEP principles make it clear to teachers what the bare bones of an excellent lesson look like."
The success of the Hounslow Education Partnership depends, in part, on good communication so please do get in touch to give us your feedback or about anything else you would like to discuss.
