HEP's annual DSL Handover Meeting provides dedicated time for Designated Safeguarding Leads and safeguarding colleagues to share information about pupils transitioning between settings. The event complements information shared through SixIntoSeven by enabling professional discussion around safeguarding, wellbeing and contextual information that supports a safe and successful transition.
2026 DSL Handover Meeting
- Date: Thursday 10th September 2026
- Primary to Secondary - 2 to 4pm
- Secondary to Further Education (Year 12 to 13): 3:30 - 5:30pm
- Venue: Grasshoppers Rugby Football Club
For the first time, the 2026 event will also include a Secondary to Further Education transition strand, bringing together secondary schools and further education providers to strengthen safeguarding arrangements and support continuity for students progressing beyond Year 11.
The event supports HEP's continuity of support approach to transition, combining secure information sharing with structured professional dialogue. By embedding DSL-to-DSL consultation as good practice, HEP aims to ensure that safeguarding information is not simply transferred, but contextualised, enabling receiving settings to provide the right support from day one.
