Theme:
In this session, you will get expert advice, from Charlotte and the Ambassadors, about how to adapt your practice to help children access a range books and develop a genuine love of reading.
A teacher's knowledge of children’s literature is crucial to embedding a reading culture in your school.
This workshop is about discovering great books, where to find them for your setting as well as learning to curate your book corners/areas to entice all children in your class/school to pick up a book.
Learn more about how to create and sustain a book buzz and authentic reading practices. Explore ways to get to know what the children are reading and how to recommend the right books for them.
You will look at how to:
- establish book-voting systems
- widen children’s book knowledge
- create a community of readers who learn from each other.
This evidence-based session will outline how to set up and embed practices that will positively impact all children.
